guardian ad litem

Unfortunately, it is well known that divorce and custody proceedings can be traumatic and have a lasting negative impact on a child. The very fabric of how a child sees their life is being torn and mended back together into something that looks different and foreign to them. Our goal as a Guardian Ad Litem is to ensure that the new patchwork created is sown together in a way that not only helps a child survive, but thrive.

With years of experience working and volunteering with the Guardian ad Litem program, the attorneys at the Russo Law Firm are trained and equipped to zealously advocate on behalf of your child as a legal guardian. Our role as a legal guardian, is not to advocate for what the child wants, but for what is in the best interest of the child. This is not a decision we take lightly. Our attorneys and staff diligently investigate, communicate, listen, and observe your child and family dynamic to ensure that we are truly advocating for what is in the best interest of your child.

Cost

The cost for a Guardian ad Litem is typically determined by the court and split between the parties, unless the Guardian ad Litem agrees to a lesser amount. With the average cost of a divorce proceeding being around $15,000 per person, we know costs can add up quickly. We never want cost to be a deciding factor as to why your child's best interest is not being advocated. Please contact us directly and we can determine a payment plan or amount that works for you and your family.
